It's been… a while… since I posted a new blog. I guess it took an exciting project like painting a cute little donated end table/magazine rack for Habitat for Humanity to wake me from my blogging hibernation. I’m just so excited about this project, I had to share!

For the Blue Spruce Habitat for Humanity’s 1st Annual Start the Dream art auction I was inspired by Walt Disney’s quote, “A dream is a wish your heart makes.” Channeling Mr. Disney, I painted a spiral bursting out from the center of a heart on top of the table. I usually paint on flat, 2-dimensional surfaces, but this 3-dimensional project allowed me to extend the “bursting” over the table’s edges.
Bid on all of the restored household items, Sunday, June 24 from 2 – 4:30 pm. The Blue Spruce ReStore is located at 1232 Bergen Parkway, Evergreen, Colorado 80401. It’s hidden, so be sure to drive around back!
Proceeds from the Start the Dream art auction will go to the Blue Spruce Habitat for Humanity Restore in Evergreen, Colorado and will make the dream of home ownership a reality for low-income families.
